Salary Range:
$160,000 - $190,000
•Final salaries will be based on qualifications and experience and could exceed the ranges provided.

23+ days annually Position Summary Client is seeking an experienced, licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to lead its Survey & Mapping Practice from its Chantilly, VA headquarters . This senior leadership role will oversee survey operations, staff, project delivery, client relationships, and business development while driving quality, innovation, and operational growth. The ideal candidate has 8+ years of land surveying experience , proven leadership experience, strong technical and business skills, and a passion for developing high-performing teams. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee surveying and mapping operations, including department strategy, workload planning, staffing, and resource allocation. Manage, mentor, and develop survey professionals, project managers, and field/office staff while supporting hiring and performance development. Oversee project execution, budgets, schedules, staffing, and deliverables to ensure quality and profitability. Build and maintain client relationships and support business development through proposals, scopes, estimates, RFQs/RFPs, and new opportunities. Drive technical excellence, QA/QC, and innovation, including implementation of surveying technologies, software, and industry best practices. Ensure regulatory, professional, and safety compliance while partnering with leadership on operational improvements and business growth. Required Qualifications 8+ years of land surveying experience with a current Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license required. Proven leadership experience managing survey teams, departments, projects, and operations. Strong knowledge of land surveying, boundary, construction and topographic surveying, geospatial technologies, and current surveying software. Experience with project budgets, financial performance, workload forecasting, and resource planning. Demonstrated ability to drive strategic initiatives, operational improvements, and business growth. Excellent communication, problem-solving, client relationship, and team-building skills.
