Position Summary The Survey Party Chief is responsible for leading a survey field crew in the collection of accurate survey data for boundary/topographic, construction stakeout, as-built, ALTA and other land surveying projects. The successful candidate will ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest professional standards while maintaining excellent communication with office staff, clients, and contractors. Essential Responsibilities Lead and supervise a survey field crew on a variety of land surveying projects. Perform boundary, topographic, construction layout, as-built surveys and ALTA. Operate and maintain surveying equipment and electronic data collectors. Establish and recover survey control and monuments. Read and interpret construction plans, plats, deeds, and engineering drawings. Collect accurate field measurements and maintain clear digital field notes. Ensure all field equipment and company vehicles are maintained and in good working condition. Coordinate daily activities with project managers. Train and mentor instrument operators and field technicians. Communicate professionally with clients, contractors, and property owners. Follow company safety policies and promote a safe work environment. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of land surveying experience , including experience leading a field crew.

Land Title Surveys Ability to troubleshoot field conditions and make sound decisions independently. Strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Valid Virginia driver's license with a good driving record. Physical Requirements Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions year-round. Ability to walk long distances over uneven terrain. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
