Full Job Description Job Summary:
Survey Party Chief (Future Lead / Number 2) Are you an experienced Survey Party Chief ready to step out of the corporate grind and help build something from the ground up? We are a newly established land surveying firm looking for an ambitious, high-performing professional to lead our field operations and grow into the company's "Number 2."This is not just another field job. You will work directly with the founder, run daily field operations, and play a critical role in shaping the company's culture, workflows, and future. Key Responsibilities Field Leadership :
Manage daily field operations for boundary, topographic, construction staking, and
ALTA/NSPS
surveys.
Data Management :
Operate, calibrate, and maintain high-tech surveying equipment (Total Stations, GPS/GNSS, Data Collectors).
Quality Control :
Ensure accuracy of all field notes, sketches, and digital data before uploading to the office.
Business Growth :
Collaborate directly with the owner to optimize field workflows and onboard future field crews.
What We Are Looking For Experience :
Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Party Chief or Senior Instrument Technician.
Ambition :
A strong desire to move up into project management or a partner-track operational role.
Technical Skill :
Proficiency with modern robotic total stations, GPS equipment, and data collection software. License Track (Plus) : An LSIT (Land Surveyor in Training) designation is highly preferred, or a clear path toward getting licensed.
Mindset :
A problem-solver who thrives in a startup environment and does not need micro-management.
Pay:
$32.00 - $34.00 per hour
