Field Surveyor Location:
Maryland or Virginia (Field-Based)

Starting at $30/hour, with flexibility for strong candidates Overview We are seeking an experienced Field Surveyor to support structural steel projects across the Mid-Atlantic region. This role is primarily field-based and involves collecting precise survey data, ensuring proper alignment, and supporting steel installation activities. Candidates must be comfortable traveling to job sites and working in active construction environments. What You'll Be Doing Utilize surveying equipment to collect accurate field data for construction use Establish building control lines, column placement, and anchor rod locations Verify elevations, alignment of embeds, and produce as-built drawings Support steel erection by ensuring proper alignment and placement Coordinate with other trades to maintain plumbness and structural accuracy Assist with installation of structural and miscellaneous steel (stairs, shafts, etc.) Use tools and software such as Trimble, Bluebeam, CAD, and Microsoft Office Promote and follow strong safety practices on all job sites What We're Looking For 3+ years of experience in structural steel erection or field surveying Experience surveying slopes, grades, and layout for structural/misc. metals Proficiency with total station or similar surveying equipment Understanding of AISC standards for building alignment and orientation Ability to travel regularly to job sites across the region Comfortable working at heights (aerial lifts, elevated steel floors) Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Good communication skills and ability to work with teams onsite What We Offer Company vehicle and gas card for travel Opportunity to work on diverse field projects across the Mid-Atlantic Ongoing training and support Additional Information This role is primarily field-based, with occasional time spent at office/shop locations for training and meetings.
