Job DescriptionJoin the Lacey KPFF team as a motivated and energetic entry level Instrument Person on our surveying team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting field surveys using various surveying instruments and equipment while maintaining high accuracy standards.

The position entails field work and minimal office work. Job duties include field topographic, boundary, right-of-way and construction surveying, and supporting office staff.

Ability to work in a team environmentWillingness to work on a variety of project typesTime management to ensure commitments and schedules are adhered toOperate surveying instruments including total stations, GPS equipment, and data collectorsPerform construction layout and topographic surveysRecord field measurements and maintain detailed field notesSet up and maintain survey equipmentAssist in establishing horizontal and vertical control pointsFollow safety protocols and procedures on construction sitesTransport equipment to and from job sitesPerform basic calculations and verify data accuracyCommunicate effectively with survey crew members and project leadsMaintain equipment in proper working conditionQualificationsMinimum 1 year experience in the land surveying fieldHigh School Diploma or GED equivalentValid Driver LicenseCarlson Survey software, Topcon robotics and AutoCAD experience desiredPhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentWork outdoors in various weather conditions on uneven terrain.

Physical ability to lift, carry, and set up equipment in the field weighing up to 50 pounds.

Operate surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS units, and data collectors, with precision.

Adhere to safety protocols and wear required protective gear while working on active job sites.
Additional InformationCompensation:
 This position is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FSLA) and is eligible to receive overtime compensation at 1.5 times the regular rate of pay for all hours worked beyond 40 hours in a standard work week. The hourly rate for this role is competitive with a range of $23.00 to $34.00 determined by experience.
