Position Overview Skillings is seeking an experienced Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to lead our survey crew. The position will be mostly in office supporting the team. This role combines technical expertise, project oversight, client interaction, and mentorship, making it ideal for a surveyor looking to grow their leadership impact within an employee-owned firm. Key Responsibilities Serve as Professional Land Surveyor of record, signing and sealing survey plans and deliverables Manage and oversee boundary, ALTA/NSPS, topographic, construction, and as-built surveys Lead project planning, scope development, scheduling, and budgeting Review field data, calculations, plats, and CAD files for accuracy and compliance Coordinate with civil engineers, architects, contractors, and permitting authorities Provide technical guidance and mentorship to survey technicians and junior staff Support business development efforts through client relationships and proposal input Ensure compliance with state regulations, professional standards, and firm QA/QC procedures Qualifications Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license 8+ years of progressive land surveying experience Proficiency with survey and CAD software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble, Leica, Carlson, or similar) Proven ability to manage projects and communicate effectively with clients and teams Drone Survey experience preferred but not required Why Join Competitive salary Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTO Established company in business for 40+ years Benefits Medical, dental, vision insurance PTO Paid holidays Sick pay For this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
