Position OverviewSkillings is seeking an experienced Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to lead our survey crew. The position will be mostly in office supporting the team. This role combines technical expertise, project oversight, client interaction, and mentorship, making it ideal for a surveyor looking to grow their leadership impact within an employee-owned firm.

Key ResponsibilitiesServe as Professional Land Surveyor of record, signing and sealing survey plans and deliverablesManage and oversee boundary, ALTA/NSPS, topographic, construction, and as-built surveysLead project planning, scope development, scheduling, and budgetingReview field data, calculations, plats, and CAD files for accuracy and complianceCoordinate with civil engineers, architects, contractors, and permitting authoritiesProvide technical guidance and mentorship to survey technicians and junior staffSupport business development efforts through client relationships and proposal inputEnsure compliance with state regulations, professional standards, and firm QA/QC proceduresQualificationsActive Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license8+ years of progressive land surveying experienceProficiency with survey and CAD software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble, Leica, Carlson, or similar)Proven ability to manage projects and communicate effectively with clients and teamsDrone Survey experience preferred but not requiredWhy JoinCompetitive salaryComprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTOEstablished company in business for 40+ yearsBenefitsMedical, dental, vision insurancePTOPaid holidaysSick pay
