Job Description
Description The Sustainability Finance team is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support financial strategy and controllership for centralized environmental program initiatives. This role partners directly with business teams to define investment strategy, build financial models to evaluate financial tradeoffs of initiatives, drive free cash flow optimization, and develop scalable frameworks for capital allocation decisions. The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded athlete willing to go beyond their core responsibilities, nimbly overcome barriers, and deliver business results. This person must be a constant learner, knowledgeable of industry trends, and effective at partnering with business leadership to accomplish goals. Key job responsibilities
- Manage and report on business performance, including building long-range financial forecasts that integrate plan data with actuals to track progress against commitments
- Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities to drive innovative solutions, productivity, and controllership for core central Sustainability programs
- Support monthly and quarterly reviews with VP+ stakeholders, providing clear narratives on financial performance, risks, and opportunities
- Design and maintain controllership mechanisms for centralized global initiatives
- Develop scalable capital allocation frameworks to evaluate and prioritize investment decisions
- Drive free cash flow optimization by identifying cost efficiencies and improving financial processes
- Design and enforce financial policies and controls that protect the integrity of Amazon's financial records and increase organizational efficiency A day in the life As a Sustainability Senior Financial Analyst, you will serve as a critical leader for priority business initiatives spanning across multiple geographies.
- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
- 3+ years of contributing to cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience
- 3+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- 4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 4+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
