Sustainability Internship at Casella Waste Systems, Inc. in Williston, Vermont, United States Job Description Position Summary Casella offers a challenging internship opportunity for high
  • potential candidates\. A real
  • life learning environment, interns work on criticalsustainabilityprojects that provide exposure tocustomers,various teams,and leaders within the organization\.
Interns are given challenging assignments that help themto becomeproficient insustainability, business,and customer service\. This experience will provide exposure to Casella's operations through professional interviews, facility tours, skills training, and the opportunity to support the company's efforts to tangibly improve its environmental and social impacts\.
Hiring Range:
$16\.00
  • $20\.
00 per hour\. This is opportunity is 10 weeks, starting the first week of June\. Key Responsibilities Engages the public in targeted recycling education programs for select municipal, university, andor industrialcustomers in support of the efforts to measurably reduce contamination and increase participation in recycling programs\. Conductsonsite andorcurbside bin audits todeterminewhat education would be helpful for customers\. Develops recycling education materials for specific audiences to educate customers aboutappropriate recyclingtechniquesand the benefits of recycling\. Collaborates with institutional and industrial customers to create customized recycling solutions for their unique operations and campuses\. Trackscustomerprogress on key recycling metrics andbrainstormspossible ideasof how to improve metrics\. Prepares, completes, and presents one primary project about their internship experience\. Participates in special projects as defined by themembers of the Sustainability team\. Education, Experience & Qualifications Applicants for the internship must be working towards a bachelor's or other advanced degree from an accredited institution\.Strong communication, presentation, technology, and organizational skills combined with excellent problem solving, research, and analytical abilities arerequired\.?A strong interest in sustainabilityand circular economy is preferred\. Successful candidates willdemonstratean ability to communicate effectively with the public and partner with individuals at all levels of the organization\.A willingnessand ability to engage proactively in continuous improvement is essential\.
