Job Description

Safety and Sustainability Intern - Summer 2027 The Safety and Sustainability Intern supports the Vice President of Risk and Loss Control and the Safety/Sustainability Departments by assisting with a wide range of safety and sustainability initiatives. Responsibilities include conducting research, supporting program implementation, analyzing environmental and safety data, completing audits, and helping develop training materials, dashboards, and reports. This role contributes to both regulatory compliance and continuous improvement across the organization. Duties /
Responsibilities:
Conduct research on sustainability best practices and environmental management. Identify gaps in existing programs and develop implementation plans for improvement; track and report progress. Analyze data related to energy consumption, waste management, water use, greenhouse gas emissions, and other environmental metrics. Develop and maintain dashboards and visualizations to measure sustainability and safety performance. Prepare reports, presentations, and training materials. Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Support the implementation of safety and sustainability programs by collaborating with other departments, increasing employee engagement, and conducting internal training. Organize and distribute safety supplies and PPE to employees. Other duties as assigned by the department.
What You Can Offer:
Currently enrolled in a degree program related to Environmental Science, Sustainability, EHS, Safety, or a related field. Completion of at least two years of higher education in a relevant degree program is preferred. Previous working experience in a manufacturing setting along with an office or administrative setting is preferred. Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). Ability to conduct detailed work including reading, scanning, typing, proofreading, and data review. Experience with public speaking and presenting in front of groups.
