Job Description

Power Solutions Group (a Sunbelt Solomon company) is a leading provider of electrical contracting, power distribution, and energy-focused service solutions for commercial and industrial clients. Known for our commitment to safety, reliability, and high-quality workmanship, we support projects from initial design through installation and long-term maintenance. Our team takes pride in solving complex challenges, delivering dependable results, and building strong relationships with the customers and communities we serve. A Breaker Shop Technician supports a NETA-accredited electrical testing operation by repairing, refurbishing, and testing low-, medium-, and high-voltage circuit breakers and related power distribution equipment. This role ensures every breaker leaving the shop meets
ANSI/NETA ATS/MTS
standards, performs reliably, and is safe for field deployment. The technician handles the full lifecycle of breaker service work: disassembly, inspection, mechanical repair, electrical testing, reassembly, and final quality verification. Success in this role requires strong mechanical aptitude, comfort with electrical test equipment, and a commitment to precision and safety. Core Responsibilities Perform mechanical and electrical refurbishment of
LV/MV/HV
circuit breakers, including cleaning, part replacement, lubrication, and mechanism adjustments.

Conduct diagnostic testing—contact resistance, insulation resistance, timing, Hi-Pot, and primary/secondary injection—and evaluate results against manufacturer tolerances and NETA standards.

Document all work clearly and accurately for internal QA and customer reporting.

Maintain a safe, organized shop environment and follow NFPA 70E and company safety procedures.

Support field teams by preparing breakers and related equipment for deployment.
