Job Title:
Integration Test Technician Job Description The Integration Test Technician tests, troubleshoots, and validates electronic assemblies and embedded systems used in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This role builds and assembles prototype electronics, performs quality inspections and functional testing, and supports both engineering development and production manufacturing activities. The technician works closely with electrical engineers to resolve issues, uses standard electronic test equipment, and documents test results and procedures to ensure reliable, high-quality final products. Responsibilities + Test, troubleshoot, and validate electronic assemblies and embedded systems used in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). + Build and assemble prototype electronics, including circuit boards, wire harnesses, cables, and system-level assemblies. + Perform quality inspections and functional testing of electronic components and assemblies to verify they meet design specifications and quality standards. + Support engineering development activities by assembling and testing prototype hardware for new and existing UAV systems. + Collaborate with electrical engineers and other team members to identify, diagnose, and resolve issues discovered during testing and production. + Utilize standard electronic test equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and soldering equipment, to perform measurements and diagnostics. + Follow detailed test procedures, work instructions, and schematics to perform integration, testing, and verification of components and systems. + Document test results, assembly procedures, calibration activities, and technical findings in a clear and organized manner. + Support both engineering prototype builds and production manufacturing efforts by performing integration, testing, and rework as needed. + Assist with rework and repair of electronic assemblies, including circuit boards, wiring, and connectors, to bring hardware into compliance with specifications. + Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas in compliance with established safety, quality, and operational standards. + Contribute to the integration of components, wiring, and cables into final products or prototypes to ensure proper operation of UAV systems. + Perform inspections of circuit boards, solder joints, wiring, and assemblies to ensure conformance with aerospace and internal quality requirements. + Use hand tools and test equipment to assemble, adjust, and verify electronic and electrical components during integration and testing operations. Essential Skills + 3-7 years of experience working with electronics, electrical systems, or related engineering and troubleshooting activities. + Hands-on experience with testing, troubleshooting, and validating electronic assemblies and embedded systems. + Proficiency in reading and working from electrical schematics, work instructions, and test procedures. + Experience using standard electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and calibration tools. + Strong in electronics and electrical principles related to circuit boards, wiring, and system integration. + Demonstrated ability to perform quality assurance, inspections, and functional testing to defined quality standards. + Experience with integration and testing of components, wiring, cables, and system-level assemblies. + Ability to support operations in both prototype development and final product manufacturing environments. + Proficiency with hand tools for assembly, repair, and rework of electronic and electrical components. + Experience working with embedded systems or embedded electronics in an operational environment. + Ability to document test results, procedures, and technical findings clearly and accurately. + Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in an engineering or aerospace-related environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience working with unmanned aerial systems (UAS) or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) in testing or operational roles. + Experience in aerospace electronics or similar high-reliability electronic systems. + Experience supporting both engineering prototype builds and production manufacturing efforts. + Familiarity with quality assurance practices and quality standards in electronics or aerospace environments. + Experience with prototyping activities, including building and iterating on early-stage hardware designs. + Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and cross-functional teams during integration and testing. + Comfort working with both final products and early-stage prototypes in a fast-paced engineering setting. Work Environment This role is fully onsite, working closely with the engineering team in a hands-on lab and production environment. The Integration Test Technician operates in an electronics-focused setting that includes test benches, electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters, soldering stations, and assembly areas for circuit boards, wiring, and system-level hardware. The position supports both engineering prototype development and production manufacturing activities, requiring frequent collaboration with engineering staff and adherence to established safety and quality standards. The work environment emphasizes organization, cleanliness, and compliance with operational procedures while working directly with UAV-related electronics and embedded systems. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Madison, AL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
