JOB SUMMARY
The Flying Probe Test Technician programs, sets up, and operates automated flying probe test equipment to verify and diagnose PCB assemblies (PCBAs). This role is hands?on, technical, and critical to ensuring product quality—requiring strong troubleshooting skills, component?level analysis, and the ability to isolate faults across both analog and digital circuits.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Program, set up, and operate automated flying probe test equipment for PCBA verification. Perform component?level troubleshooting and root?cause analysis on analog and digital circuits. Execute detailed test procedures and multi?step test sequences with accuracy and consistency. Analyze and document test results, escalating recurring issues and recommending corrective actions. Collaborate with Test Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams on debug activities and yield improvements. Conduct testing on both production units and returned goods (RMA). Maintain equipment, fixtures, and a clean, organized work area while following ESD and safety practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education or experience in electronics. High School Diploma required; technical degree or equivalent hands?on experience preferred. Experience troubleshooting PCB assemblies at the component level (analog and digital circuits). Ability to read and interpret schematics, PCB layouts, and component datasheets. Hands?on experience with electronic test equipment such as DMMs, oscilloscopes, and power supplies. Familiarity with flying probe test systems (programming or operating experience preferred). Strong attention to detail and disciplined documentation practices, including adherence to ESD and safety standards. Effective problem?solving skills with the ability to follow structured debug methods.
