Test Technician

SUMMARY :

Responsible for the setup, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of electronic assemblies and associated test equipment, for digital products. Performs board level and system level functional testing of digital applications. Applies comprehensive technical and theoretical knowledge to solve complex problems by referencing manufacturer's manuals, customer documents, diagnostic test equipment, and internal documentation & test procedures. Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits. Demonstrates proficiency in learning product operations and in troubleshooting product to the component & PCB level. Uses documentation provided for setting up or modifying various in-circuit and functional tests (to include flying probe and AOI as needed). Must be self-motivated and able to perform routine and complex job duties with limited instruction. A degree of creativity and judgment is expected. Must have the motivation to troubleshoot difficult assemblies and RMA's according to required schedules and the ability to track and report status and performance within defined area of test responsibility. Must be able to read and interpret schematics and electrical diagrams. Understand basic forms of digital communications. Must be proficient in the utilization of a variety of test equipment including but not limited to: Oscilloscopes and DVM's.

EDUCATION

Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school OR equivalent military training/experience in electronics; plus a minimum of one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, and the ability to perform the tasks and skills defined above.
