Job Description

Job Summary:
The INS Technician performs testing, troubleshooting, calibration and repair/overhaul on various inertial navigation systems.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Inspects, installs, tests, troubleshoots, repairs, configures, calibrates and services electrical equipment such as INS's, gyroscopes, accelerometers and platform (gimbal) assemblies. Diagnose mechanical or electrical problems Complete teardown, overhaul and calibration Understand and follow electronic schematics Read maintenance manuals to identify repair procedures Replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools and soldering Inspect completed work to ensure that it meets performance standards Keep records of maintenance and repair work Test electronic instruments, using circuit testers, oscilloscopes, and voltmeters Assist engineers in projects and research and development Provide solutions to technical problems
Required Skills/Abilities:
Experience in system-level testing and verification. Experience with inertial measurement and/or guidance and navigation. Experience with rate tables, multi-axis positioners, thermal chambers, simulators, precision power supplies, DMMs, oscilloscopes. High attention to detail and repeatability; disciplined checklists. Good communication and collaboration skills Time management under production pressure; prioritize multiple units/stations.
Education/Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. 3+ years of experience in testing or troubleshooting instrumentation Strong technical skills and ability to interpret test procedures and specifications.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a work station and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Pay:
$25.00 - $38.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
