Job Title:
EMC Technician Job Description Join a dynamic team that provides EMC testing for global design teams, working on next-generation electronics including fully electric machines, autonomous systems, controls, sensors, and displays. In this role, you will support projects in the lab by maintaining equipment, executing functional evaluations, and performing various test activities such as performance, electrical, environmental, and durability evaluations. You will integrate with fellow technicians and engineering staff, contributing to the development and validation testing. Responsibilities Help setup test environments for clients. Run a variety of tests and troubleshoot any failures that occur. Provide regulatory and RF physics consulting to clients whenever possible. Document test results accurately and comprehensively. Collaborate with Technicians to plan tests and maintain test equipment. Work closely with EMC Engineers to provide consulting on EMC designs and regulations. Assist clients in troubleshooting their products to ensure test methods are comprehensive and cover possible field conditions. Analyze field returns and perform basic functional evaluations and other directed testing. Log metrics and ensure test equipment is well-maintained according to prescribed schedules. Essential Skills Troubleshooting of electrical or mechanical systems, such as repairing vehicles or building computers. 2-year electronics degree or applicable experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in electronics. Understanding of EMC, RF, or PCB. Basic electronics concepts such as capacitance. Skills in soldering, crimping, and reading circuit diagrams. Understanding of Radio Frequency physics. Experience with Ham radio or software-defined radio as a work or hobby. Proficiency with electronic lab equipment like Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Power Meters, Amplifiers, Signal Generators, and Network Analyzers. General computer skills, including MS Office. The role involves working closely with a team of technicians and engineers in a lab setting Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Chillicothe, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $34.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
