Position Description:
The Test Technician at LayerZero Power Systems, Inc. will be responsible for implementing appropriate test methods, utilizing necessary test equipment, implementing test procedures and software, and providing a lead role in the testing of newly developed products and standard production testing. The Test Technician will operate on all types of test instruments and will have limited supervision. LayerZero Power Systems, Inc. is looking for an intelligent, detail-oriented, dependable worker to join our team.
Responsibilities:
Inspection and testing of electrical/electronic power equipment, transformers, circuit breakers. Troubleshooting of AC and DC power and control circuits up to 480V Perform occasional repairs of control, power and fiber optic assembly, crimping and routing Programming electronic devices, interfacing withputer and programs onputer. Completing test reports and documentation usingputer, keyboard, paperwork.
Work Environment:
The employee will be working around voltages and circuits up to 480V. Occasional use of step ladder to access parts of cabinet. Noise from load banks can be moderately loud and some heat is generated during load testing.
Qualifications:
Required:
Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or 2 years minimum experience in the power industry Proficient with Voltmeter and current meter Read and understand schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings Strong attention to detail Experience using hand tools Experience with use and maintenance of electrical PPE Experience with Lock-out/Tag-out and other standard electrical safety procedures Computer experience; Excel, Word, file manipulation
Preferred:
Experience with electrical parts assembly and/or wiring Electrical troubleshooting of electricalponent and electronics Use of measurement tools Excellent documentation skills Demonstrated oral and writtenmunication skills. Some programming knowledge a plus Small tool knowledge Some knowledge of the NEC code
Physical Requirements:
Standing for extended periods of time Dexterity to handle, feel and manipulate objects, tools and controls Reaching with hands and arms Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling. Visual acuity including near, distance, color, depth perception Occasional push, pull, lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds. Reasonable amodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Monday - Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, ½ hour unpaid lunch, 2 paid breaks
Pay Details:
