Full-time Position Overview:
Unitek is seeking a skilled Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting electromagnetic compatibility/interference (EMC/EMI) and signal integrity (SI) testing of automotive components. This role involves a high degree of creativity and initiative in developing and supporting
EMC/EMI/SI
test-related activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct EMC test and development programs. Design, test, and troubleshoot electronic systems to meet EMC standards. Analyze EMI/EMC issues and implement solutions such as shielding, grounding, and interference minimization. Set up and verify test instrumentation, document test results, and compile final test reports. Communicate with clients during test setup and performance to demonstrate methods and discuss results. Fabricate and verify test samples/assemblies. Diagnose, analyze, and troubleshoot EMC/EMI and signal integrity test configurations. Program, debug, and troubleshoot automated test controller systems. Assist in the automation of EMC test systems. Maintain knowledge of operational procedures for all test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, EMC receivers, signal/impulse generators, antennas, and oscilloscopes.
Qualifications and Skills:
Associate degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience required. Candidates with experience in Wireless Communications or Automotive Radio Frequency are also considered. Proficiency with electronic/electrical test equipment. Strong verbal and written communication skills. 1-3 years of related experience in electromagnetic compatibility or radio frequency testing preferred. Working knowledge of radio frequency. Background in analog and digital circuitry.
