Overview:

Seeking an Electrical Test Technician to support electrical testing and lab operations in a high-current test environment. This role involves hands-on assembly, configuration, and testing of motor control centers (MCCs), switchgear, and related electrical systems while ensuring compliance with UL and IEC standards. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, experience with wiring and test equipment, and a strong commitment to safety procedures and organized lab practices.

Responsibilities:

Build and configure MCC and switchgear test samples based on engineering drawings and specifications Assemble electrical and mechanical components for standard and custom test setups Prepare and support high-current, high-power electrical testing activities Perform electrical compliance and performance testing including short circuit, arc flash, temperature rise, and dielectric (hi-pot) testing Document test procedures, setups, results, and observations accurately Maintain traceability and compliance records for all testing activities Follow electrical safety and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures in laboratory environments Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready workspace using 5S principles Collaborate with engineering teams during testing, troubleshooting, and failure analysis activities Communicate test progress, issues, and findings effectively

Required Qualifications:

Technical school training or equivalent experience preferred Hands-on experience with electrical/mechanical assembly and power/control wiring Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings Familiarity with test instrumentation and lab equipment Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude Understanding of electrical safety practices and LOTO procedures Familiarity with 5S and continuous improvement concepts

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience testing MCCs, switchgear, or industrial power products Familiarity with UL and IEC compliance standards/testing
