Job Description
The Town of Moraga offers a supportive, team-oriented environment where you will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of meaningful municipal engineering projects and make a visible impact in the community. This is a great opportunity for an engineer who enjoys wearing many hats, working across disciplines, and gaining broad experience in capital projects, land development, traffic engineering, stormwater compliance, and public works infrastructure. As a Senior Engineer, you will lead highly specialized and complex engineering work to advance a diverse portfolio of Town priorities. Assignments may include roadway and traffic safety improvements, multimodal trails and Safe Routes to School projects, drainage and stormwater improvements, pavement and sidewalk work, development review, and other capital and infrastructure projects. The role also provides opportunities to work directly with elected officials, represent the Town on committees and commissions, and participate in regional coordination efforts. In a small but dedicated organization, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of projects, work closely with staff and consultants, and help provide technical guidance and support to junior staff on assigned work. You will also have the chance to help advance innovative and regionally significant efforts, including federally funded Safe Streets and Roads for All planning and implementation work and the Countywide Smart Signals project in partnership with the Contra Costa Transportation Authority. The Town values initiative, collaboration, practical problem-solving, and a commitment to quality public service. Moraga is an excellent place for a motivated engineer to broaden technical skills, build project management experience, and grow professionally while helping deliver projects that support and enhance the community.
