Group Engineer - Highways Operations

Sunderland City Council are looking to appoint to the permanent position of Group Engineer in the Highways Operations Team. The position will be filled by a person able to deliver strategic development, delivery of front-line services and improved co-ordination/delivery of mainstream services, that are responsive to local needs. They will provide management support to Managers and supervision to an allocated technical team and provide technical/ contractual expertise in Highways Operations. Must have experience of contract managing site-based construction related projects/ highways maintenance services. The post will be Office/ Site based

• Must have experience of contract managing site-based construction related projects/ highways maintenance services.
• Must hold a full UK/ EEC Driving Licence
• Must be prepared to work in all weathers.
• Must be able/ prepared to meet the travel requirements of the post
• Must be prepared to work flexible/ additional hours to meet the needs of the business.
