Sr Traffic Engineer STV, Inc. dental insurance, life insurance, vision insurance, parental leave, paid time off, paid holidays, 401(k) United States, Connecticut, Hartford Aug 10, 2026 Senior Traffic Engineer STV, a nationally recognized leader for delivering value and excellence inengineering, construction management,architecture, planning and environmental services, is seeking an experienced Senior Traffic Engineerto join our growing transportation engineering team in our Hartford, CT office.
Responsibilities:
Perform Traffic Engineering Studies and Designs Traffic signal design forCTDOT, CT
Municipalities, including physical equipment and timings Review contractor submittals during traffic signal construction Transportation engineering and traffic planning studies. Traffic simulation analysis using VISSIM and Synchro, SimTraffic software, and operational analysis using HCS. Writes and reviewstraffic impact studies and analysis reports. Works with multi-disciplinary teams and provide traffic inputs for environmental studies and roadway design elements such as roadway signing, pavement marking, and MPT plans, Design Approval Documents, and/or traffic signal operation analyses. Coordinate with DOT and local agencies. Assists in public information meetings. Support the preparation of technical proposals, and business development activities.Requirements:
BSCE degree or equivalent with a minimum of 10-15 plusyears of experience. PE required and PTOE preferred. Prior work with traffic signal design forCTDOT, CT
Municipalities preferred; experience with NYCDOT, NYSDOT, MASSDOT or other agencies considered. Proficiency with MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, and AutoTurn is desirable. Thorough understanding of HCS, VISSIM, Synchro, Sim Traffic software is desired. Experience related to traffic safety (vehicle, pedestrian, and bicycle), roadside/intersection safety, accessibility, crash data analysis and development of crash countermeasures. Successful experience meeting scope, schedules, and budgets on transportation projects/studies. Good oral and written communication skills. Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.Compensation Range:
