Justin Hayes Description The Traffic Intern works under the direction and guidance of the Department Manager and works collaboratively with other DRMP associates. A key focus of this role will be leveraging coding and automation to improve internal workflows. This includes developing tools in Excel using VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) to help process and analyze data such as traffic counts, crash data, and other engineering datasets more efficiently. This is an hourly position and serves as an ambassador of the DRMP brand to internal and external clients. Your Primary Responsibilities will include Assisting with CAD production and plan development Performing basic electrical calculations such as voltage drop Supporting lighting design analysis reports and power design analysis Quantities takeoffs and verification Assisting with general design tasks across traffic and electrical project What you'll need Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field. Able to analyze and interpret data. Proficient with Microsoft Office software. Effective organizational skills to maintain deliverables, analytical results, and field notes in project files. Effective writing skills to assist with report writing, proposal preparation, and engineering/construction cost estimates. Able to work effectively in group settings or as an individual. Ability to exercise independent judgement and discretion.
