Job Description
Program Manager - Traffic Engineering Monday-Friday | 7:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., hours may vary Do you have experience in transportation, construction, project management, or civil engineering - and enjoy seeing projects move from plans to improvements you can see throughout the community? Help manage the traffic signals, street lighting, signs, and infrastructure projects that keep Fort Wayne moving safely and efficiently. What You'll Do You'll support Traffic Engineering projects from planning through construction and inspection. This position works with City departments, contractors, engineers, INDOT, and other agencies to coordinate projects, review plans and permits, maintain infrastructure, and respond to community concerns. Key Responsibilities Support federal and local projects involving traffic control and street lighting systems Assist with traffic signal, sign, pavement marking, and street lighting projects Prepare project documents, cost estimates, specifications, progress reports, and other required documentation Coordinate utility, construction, inspection, maintenance, and asset management activities Review permits and conduct site inspections to ensure work meets City standards Investigate and respond to citizen questions, complaints, and concerns Assist with barricade, driveway, parking lot, oversize and overweight load, and encroachment permit reviews Work with Traffic Operations and Street Light Operations on investigations and maintenance projects Attend meetings with the Board of Public Works, City Council, INDOT, and other state and federal agencies
