We are seeking a motivated and experienced Project Engineer to join the growing Road Group of a large, stable and growing client of ours. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a variety of complex and high-profile transportation projects while mentoring junior staff and collaborating across disciplines. As a Project Engineer, you will perform technical design work, manage project components, and serve as a key liaison between clients and internal teams. The ideal candidate is self-driven, has a strong background in roadway and transportation engineering, and is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with at least 8 years of related experience. Responsibilities Perform conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design for transportation and roadway projects. Develop and oversee geometric design, maintenance of traffic, drainage, and signing/pavement marking plans. Lead or support the preparation of construction documents, including plans, specifications, and cost estimates. Develop and review 3D roadway models and related digital design deliverables. Provide technical mentorship and support to junior engineers and design technicians. Ensure quality control and compliance with applicable design standards and client requirements. Collaborate with clients, subconsultants, and internal teams on project coordination and technical issues. Contribute to project scoping, scheduling, and proposal development as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE required). Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of employment. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in roadway or transportation design. Strong technical skills and proficiency with design software such as MicroStation, Geopak, and/or OpenRoads Designer. Knowledge of AASHTO and DOT roadway design standards. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to self-motivate and thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.Physical Demands:
