By joining our Traffic Engineering and Permits Section as a Transportation Engineering Supervisor in Fayette County, you'll have the opportunity to oversee the activities of professional and technical personnel in the planning, design, construction and maintenance of traffic devices in District 7. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Supervises the activities of employees of an engineering program. Develops, reviews, and maintains all traffic signals and roadway lighting in the district. Correspond with developers, consultants, local government, and utility owners, on a wide range of traffic topics. Review and analyze data from others. Skills and Expectations include but are not limited to the following: Experience as a Professional Engineer. Consulting with contractors, material suppliers, consultants, local officials, departmental engineers, and county maintenance and special operations crews about technical and operational issues. Experience working in the Traffic Engineering field. Determining ways and means for proper expenditure of funds for the District Traffic program.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
(AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must possess a valid driver's license prior to employment in this job classification. Must be licensed as a professional engineer by the Kentucky Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors OR must be licensed in another state with the ability to obtain a Professional Engineering license from the Kentucky Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors within the employee's initial six month probationary period. Engineering decisions recommended by individuals without a Kentucky Professional Engineering License must be approved by a KRS Chapter 322 Licensed Professional Engineer until licensure is obtained.
