We're looking for a Roadway Project Engineer to join our Transportation Group. This role offers the opportunity to lead design efforts on a wide range of transportation projects, including corridor studies, roadway rehabilitation, ADA compliance, and complex interchanges. The ideal candidate will bring DOT design experience. What You'll Do As a Roadway Project Engineer, you'll: Lead design on transportation engineering projects including intersections, local streets, collectors, arterials, rural roadways, trails, and sidewalks with ADA facilities. Analyze reports, maps, drawings, and survey data to plan and assemble construction documents. Conduct preliminary engineering evaluations and studies to identify design alternatives and assist in making recommendations. Prepare project quantities and cost estimates. Ensure project quality in accordance with QA/QC guidelines. Provide hands-on expertise and contribute to complex, multidisciplinary projects. Coach and mentor junior staff and support their career development. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Perform other duties as assigned. What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification required; PE license preferred. 3+ years of experience in project design and plan development; DOT experience preferred. Proficiency with MicroStation and Bentley's OpenRoads Designer (ORD). Strong technical knowledge of engineering principles and practices. Ability to lead design tasks across a variety of transportation project types. Strong time management and organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and local policies, procedures, and regulations.
