SENIOR TRANSPORTATION ENGINEER

Now we need to add a Senior Transportation Engineer to help us keep building. Working with our Transportation team, you will help lead transportation and traffic projects, strengthen client relationships throughout Ohio, and support the continued growth of our transportation practice. This role offers the opportunity to manage projects, pursue new work, mentor technical staff, and collaborate with teams across Fishbeck. What You'll Do Lead and manage transportation and traffic engineering projects for ODOT, local agencies, and other clients. Serve as a project manager and/or task leader, overseeing project scope, schedules, budgets, and technical delivery. Support traffic engineering efforts, including the review of traffic studies, analyses, and reports. Develop and maintain strong relationships with the City of Columbus, area counties, municipalities, and other local agencies. Identify and pursue new transportation opportunities throughout the Columbus and greater Ohio markets. Lead and support project pursuits, including proposal development, fee preparation, presentations, and client interviews. Identify potential funding sources for local public agencies and assist with grant and funding applications for transportation projects. Build relationships with private developers and identify opportunities to provide transportation and other multidisciplinary Fishbeck services. Collaborate across departments to identify client development and cross-marketing opportunities. Develop strategic partnerships with regional and national firms to support transportation pursuits in Ohio. Support business development planning and strategy for the Columbus and Ohio markets. Mentor and provide technical guidance to engineers and project managers. Support recruiting and team growth as needed. Represent Fishbeck at client events, industry organizations, and other professional events throughout the Columbus area. What We're Looking For Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. Minimum of 10 years of experience in transportation engineering, traffic engineering, transportation planning, or a related field. Significant experience working on ODOT and/or local agency transportation projects. Proven project management experience, including managing scope, schedules, budgets, and multidisciplinary teams. Demonstrated experience developing client relationships and pursuing new work. Experience preparing proposals, developing project fees, and participating in client presentations and interviews. Experience identifying transportation funding opportunities and preparing grant or funding applications. Experience mentoring and developing junior engineers and project managers. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, teaming partners, and internal project teams. Self-motivated with a commitment to high-quality work and client service. Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
