Traffic Engineer Department Manager

C.S. Davidson, Inc. is seeking an experienced Traffic Engineer to lead and expand our Traffic Services practice. This position combines technical traffic engineering expertise with project management, client representation, business development, and team leadership. The ideal candidate is a licensed Professional Engineer with a strong background in transportation planning and design, municipal consulting, and project delivery. This role offers the opportunity to help shape the future of our traffic department while serving municipalities and public-sector clients throughout the region. Responsibilities Lead traffic engineering projects primarily for municipal clients , including traffic studies, roadway design, traffic signal improvements, multimodal transportation planning , and permitting coordination. Serve as a trusted advisor and representative to municipal clients, providing technical guidance, coordinating with PennDOT and local planning agencies, and helping communities address transportation infrastructure needs. Manage all phases of traffic projects from planning and design through permitting, funding acquisition, and construction support, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within budget. Oversee the preparation and review of traffic impact studies, intersection analyses, traffic calming evaluations, signal warrant studies, roadway improvement plans, and maintenance and protection of traffic (MPT) plans. Support business development initiatives by cultivating client relationships, identifying new project opportunities, preparing proposals, and contributing to the continued growth of the Traffic Services Department. Mentor and develop traffic engineering staff while helping to build and lead a growing team of professionals dedicated to delivering high-quality transportation solutions. Department Manager Role:

Required Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering Professional Engineer license Minimum of 10 years of traffic engineering and design experience Demonstrated experience managing transportation projects and client relationships Preferred Experience in managing and developing personnel Certification as a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) Why Join C.S.
