Job Description
Job DescriptionAre you ready to take the first step in your civil engineering career with a company that values innovation, collaboration, and professional growth? Timmons Group is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Civil Project Engineer I candidates for in our Richmond, VA office's Traffic Analysis & Planning group.
Essential duties and responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:
Complete operational analysis, corridor studies, traffic studies, innovative intersection implementation, traffic calming, and safety analysis;Bicycle/pedestrian/multi-modal feasibility, analysis, design, and implementation;Complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills and/or utilizes computers in order to solve problemsResearch and prepare material specifications, installation guidelines, and inspection protocols.
Work to complete design details and plan setsComplete field observation, inspection and data collection duties as directed by senior engineering staffCollaborate with client staff and internal design team as directed by senior engineering staffContribute to cost estimates and technical reports that drive project success.
Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:
A bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or a closely related degree with coursework in transportation/traffic preferredEIT preferredKnowledge of Traffic Analyses, Planning Studies, Traffic Safety, Traffic Forecasting, Traffic Signal Design, ITS Design, and/or Traffic Signal Timing is preferredAdditional InformationThe requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.
