Job Description

Description Seeking an experienced Value Engineering Specialist to support large-scale capital infrastructure and construction projects by identifying opportunities to improve project functionality, optimize design and construction approaches, and reduce overall project costs while maintaining quality and performance standards. This role works closely with project managers, task managers, design teams, and construction stakeholders to evaluate alternatives, improve efficiency, and support delivery of cost-effective and high-performing project solutions throughout the project lifecycle. Requirements Qualifications and Skills Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience. In lieu of a degree, 15 years of relevant experience may be considered. Strong understanding of design, construction, project delivery, and cost management principles. Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Certification in Value Engineering (SAVE International or equivalent) required. Experience supporting large capital, infrastructure, transportation, or transit projects preferred. Familiarity with public agency project delivery, construction processes, and multidisciplinary project environments. Experience facilitating value engineering workshops and presenting recommendations to stakeholders preferred. Responsibilities and Duties Provide value engineering support to project managers and task managers across multiple projects and disciplines. Identify opportunities to improve project functionality, constructability, and operational efficiency. Evaluate project designs, construction methods, materials, and systems to identify cost-saving opportunities. Facilitate and participate in value engineering studies, workshops, and technical reviews. Develop recommendations that align project objectives with budget, schedule, quality, and performance goals. Analyze design alternatives and lifecycle cost impacts to support informed decision-making. Collaborate with engineering, construction management, and stakeholder teams to optimize project delivery strategies. Prepare technical documentation, reports, presentations, and recommendations related to value engineering initiatives. Support risk mitigation, cost control, and continuous improvement efforts throughout project development and construction phases.
Pay:
$80,000.00 - $157,000.00 per year
