W2 long-term contract | contract-to-hire path for strong performers Position Summary Support startup and commissioning of electrical and mechanical equipment on large-scale data center projects. Working as part of a small field team under a commissioning lead, this role performs IO checkout, communications troubleshooting, basic PLC work, graphics integration support, and documentation needed to bring systems online. Key Responsibilities Perform field checkout and troubleshoot hard-wired IO points and Modbus communications. Read electrical one-line diagrams, control prints, and network drawings. Complete basic PLC uploads, downloads, and supervised code edits. Support graphics integration in Ignition or AVEVA and trace data from field devices through gateways to operator displays. Assist with startup, functional testing, deficiency resolution, and turnover of electrical and mechanical systems. Use test equipment, including a multimeter, safely and accurately on an active construction site. Required Qualifications Mid-level to senior experience in commissioning, controls, automation, field service, startup, or instrumentation. Hands-on PLC experience; BAS/DDC-only backgrounds without PLC work do not qualify. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot IO, communications, and field devices and to read technical drawings. Electrical-side candidates should offer networking and communications depth; mechanical-side candidates should offer hard-wired IO, chiller, and vendor-equipment experience. Data center experience is preferred; 2-3 years of direct data center experience Work Requirements This is an on-site role, Monday through Friday, beginning at 7:00 AM, with typical active-site weeks of approximately 45 hours. Candidates must be site-flexible and commit to relocation or full-week travel; partial-week, remote, and hybrid arrangements are not available.
