Full Job Description Position Summary:
Senior Manufacturing Quality Engineer responsible for shop-floor and engineering quality support for aerospace assembly, composite and metallic structures, nonconformance disposition, root cause investigations, dimensional control, and manufacturing compliance. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. 8+ years of manufacturing quality engineering experience in the aerospace industry. Significant assembly experience with spacecraft and/or aircraft. Subject matter expertise in composite fabrication processes. Subject matter expertise in metallic manufacturing processes. Experience supporting aerospace fabrication, assembly, and system integration. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation. Expert-level knowledge of GD&T and
ASME Y14.5.
Extensive experience with Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and dispositioning. Experience supporting Material Review Board (MRB) activities and decisions. Experience leading Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations. Experience with Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes. Experience with Corrective Action Board (CAB) processes. Experience performing and reviewing First Article Inspections in accordance with AS9102. Experience reviewing and approving Manufacturing Work Instructions (MWIs). Experience reviewing inspection plans and tooling documentation. Experience performing drawing reviews, tolerance stack-up reviews, and dimensional requirement verification. Ability to work approximately 50% on the manufacturing floor and 50% in desk-based engineering activities. Preferred Skills Spacecraft manufacturing experience. Launch vehicle assembly or integration experience. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification. CMM experience. Experience with aerospace metrology systems. Supplier quality experience within complex aerospace supply chains. Experience developing in-process inspection criteria and test plans. Experience supporting production readiness and manufacturability reviews. Job Responsibilities Provide manufacturing quality engineering support for composite and metallic aerospace structures. Support fabrication, assembly, and system integration activities. Perform shop-floor quality support for manufacturing and assembly operations. Resolve quality issues involving engineering requirements, manufacturing processes, and dimensional compliance. Develop and implement in-process inspection criteria and quality control checkpoints. Review manufacturing processes for compliance with applicable quality standards and specifications. Lead NCR evaluation and disposition activities. Determine and document use-as-is, rework, repair, or scrap dispositions. Support MRB reviews and disposition decisions. Lead RCCA investigations for manufacturing nonconformances. Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions. Support CAPA and CAB activities. Review and approve Manufacturing Work Instructions. Review inspection plans and tooling documentation from a quality engineering perspective. Conduct and oversee AS9102 First Article Inspections. Perform detailed engineering drawing and specification reviews. Evaluate tolerance stack-ups and dimensional requirements. Apply GD&T requirements to validate design intent and manufacturing compliance. Analyze quality data and prepare technical reports. Support manufacturability and production-readiness reviews.
