The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability, and consistency of lithium?ion battery products in a battery assembly manufacturing environment. This role plays a critical part in preventing defects that could lead to safety risks, product recalls, or performance failures by driving quality control, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Production Quality & Inspection Monitor and inspect battery components and finished products, including cells, modules, and battery packs Ensure manufacturing processes meet quality standards across all stages of production, including electrode coating, cell assembly, welding, stacking, and sealing Track and analyze key quality metrics such as defect rates, yield, and scrap to identify risks early Testing & Validation Oversee and evaluate battery testing activities, including charge/discharge cycles, capacity testing, thermal performance, and safety/abuse testing Verify compliance with internal specifications, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory standards (UL, ISO, automotive OEM standards) Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Action Investigate quality issues, defects, and failures using structured problem-solving methods Perform root cause analysis using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, and fault tree analysis Identify contributing factors related to materials, processes, equipment, or design Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement Analyze production and quality data to identify trends and improvement opportunities Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and statistical process control (SPC) methodologies Drive process optimization to improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency Process Quality Control Develop, maintain, and update quality documentation including control plans, inspection plans, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) Ensure consistent application of quality standards related to assembly tolerances and material handling Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with safety procedures related to battery manufacturing hazards Monitor and mitigate risks related to thermal runaway and chemical handling Support compliance with environmental regulations and industry quality standards such as ISO 9001 and

Functional Collaboration Partner with manufacturing, engineering, and production teams to resolve quality issues Support new product introductions (NPI), process changes, and validation activities Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to maintain quality standards Supplier Quality Evaluate, audit, and manage suppliers of battery components and materials Address incoming inspection issues and lead supplier corrective actions Ensure suppliers consistently meet quality and performance requirements Required Skills & Tools BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar 0-3 years experience with quality tools and methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, PFMEA, DFMEA) Proficiency in Korean a plus Proficiency with SPC and data analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP) Strong understanding of battery systems, manufacturing processes, and automation Excellent problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills #MPG1
