We're seeking a multi-disciplinary candidate who is self-motivated and is able to set and meet goals. The Test Engineer ensures the optical tracking mount products, software and hardware, meet quality standards and user requirements by designing, executing, and monitoring testing processes, identifying and reporting defects, and collaborating with design and development teams to improve performance and prevent defects. Key responsibilities include developing test plans and fixtures required to conduct test at the sub-assembly and assembly levels, executing manual and automated tests, documenting and tracking bugs. and analyzing results to identify trends and recommend solutions. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Develop and maintain Test Plans Create comprehensive test plans and test cases to verify functionality on a sub-assembly level and identify product strengths and weaknesses. Create and maintain databases of known defects and detailed records of testing procedures for future use and training. Create and maintain databases of Process and Product Qualification Plans, including tool proofs, capability studies, control methods and FMEAs. Works with Engineering and Quality on control methods and FMEAs. Execute Tests Design and build test equipment to perform manual and automated test for electrical and electronic components and systems. Track test and failure report data, including internal and external non-conformances. Identify & Report Defects Find and document software bugs, glitches, and other hardware defects in a defect tracking system, reporting them to developers and other stakeholders. Analyze & Troubleshoot Analyze test results to identify patterns, troubleshoot errors, and implement improvements to the testing process. Ensure Standards Compliance Ensure the product adheres to customer requirements, industry standards, and design specifications. Owns key quality improvement projects - manages those projects through completion. Collaborate with Teams Work with developers, designers, and project managers to provide input on functional requirements and ensure product quality throughout the development cycle. Transmit information to appropriate organizational functions, direct and assist in conducting research on product defects in conjunction with engineering personnel and recommend modifications to meet product quality standards. Participates in and leads meeting aimed at improving quality of product. Ensures quality of purchased materials and parts meets specification, including supplier audits and resolution of identified quality issues related to suppliers. Participates in Set requirements for raw material or intermediate products for suppliers and monitor their compliance. Participates in Material Review Board (MRB) to disposition non-conforming material and product, including recommendations for lowest cost options. Uses customer feedback and internal quality data to revise control methods and FMEAs. Communicate the needs of the customer relative to product information, quality requirements (e.g., special characteristics, quality objectives and related training). Work according to deadlines to ensure on-time delivery of products. Some travel may be required when off-site quality issues are discovered. Responsibilities include, but not limited to maintenance of database, customer relationship management, product life cycle management and enterprise asset management. Supports communication between shop supervisors, engineering and management and reports production issues to appropriate management. Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines Other duties and projects as assigned by management.
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Experience:
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in electronics Test Engineer role within a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of world-class manufacturing practices such as process control and monitoring, cost reduction, structured problem solving, and lean manufacturing.
Skills:
  • Proven ability to analyze complex technical problems, identify root causes of system malfunctions, and develop and implement effective corrective actions.
  • In-depth experience interpreting complex system schematics and diagrams to develop and execute comprehensive test plans, as well as troubleshoot failures as required.
  • Working knowledge of various testing methodologies, including functional, regression, performance, and security testing; familiarity with testing tools, defect tracking systems, and, where applicable, programming or scripting languages.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with quality engineering tools and methodologies, including FMEA, Control Plans, Design of Experiments (DOE), acceptance sampling, and structured problem-solving techniques.
  • In-depth knowledge of, and audit experience with, Quality Management Systems, including AS9100.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently while meeting established deadlines.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documentation, procedures, and applicable governmental or regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated success leading and supporting significant quality and process improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare and deliver clear, concise, and persuasive presentations to all organizational levels, including senior leadership.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including the ability to apply probability, statistical inference, and fundamental principles of geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply logical and scientific reasoning to a wide range of technical and operational challenges.
  • Proven ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with management, cross-functional teams, suppliers, customers, and regulatory or agency representatives.
  • Demonstrated capability to analyze inspection and test data to develop and implement processes and procedures that improve product quality and reliability.
  • Working knowledge of applicable military standards.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems.

  • Position requires ability to frequently stand; walk; use hands and reach with hands and arms.

$55.00 - $65.00 per hour
