  • Assist in the planning process to establish systems that will evaluate the inspection process.
This will include sampling, recording of information, design of forms as needed, gauging when required and any necessary training. Review and evaluate inspection methods and inspection data in order to improve product and process quality. Work with engineering and outside sources in the design of inspection gauges and fixtures. Customer/Supplier Contact -
  • Will be the customer focal contact for quality issues regarding inspection and testing.
Interface with customer quality and engineering on issues regarding non-conformances and returns. Participate in any discussions regarding quality issues. Assist in the review process when parts are returned and communicate the results in a timely manner. Perform audits of outside suppliers when required. Continuous Improvement -
  • Utilize information that may be collected during the inspection process and make recommendations for improvement. Participate in continuous improvement groups as required. This may include projects initiated by our customers. Teamwork -
  • Must work well with all levels of the organization to promote a common inspection plan.
Monitor and establish guidelines to be used by the inspection department so that there is a common goal for the department to achieve.
Education:
  • Associate's degree or higher.
5-7 years of experience as a Quality Engineer may be substituted.
Skills:
  • Computer literate
  • Knowledge of customer and industry standards, specifications, and quality system requirements, such as PFMEA, PPAP, FAI, RCCA, etc.
  • Basic metrology
  • Blueprint reading
  • Statistical methods
  • Basic metallurgy
AS / ISO/NADCAP
literate
  • Ability to participate in Management reviews
  • Ability to interface and communicate effectively with personnel at various levels within the organization both internally and externally
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, identify problems, resolve issues and/or notify appropriate personnel for resolution
EXPERIENCE
  • 5 to 7 years of related experience within the quality field of a manufacturing environment
