Job Description

Hiring for a Quality Manager in Milford! A growing aerospace CNC job shop is seeking a highly hands-on Quality Manager to lead and execute all quality-related functions. This is a key role responsible for both strategic quality leadership and direct shop-floor execution in a fast-paced, high-mix/low-volume environment. This position requires daily involvement with inspection activities, root cause investigations, and collaboration with technicians. Key Responsibilities Own, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (AS9100 / ISO 9001) Oversee and actively support inspection processes (incoming, in-process, and final) Conduct and lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) Partner directly with shop-floor personnel to resolve quality issues in real time Validate measurements and support inspection activities as needed Drive continuous improvement initiatives across production and quality processes Ensure compliance with aerospace standards, customer requirements, and internal procedures Qualifications 5-10+ years of aerospace quality experience in a manufacturing environment Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with AS9100 and/or
ISO 9001
Demonstrated experience in both Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) Proficiency in quality tools such as 8D, 5 Why, FMEA, and CAPA Hands-on experience with inspection equipment, measurement validation, and reading manufacturing drawings Comfortable working directly on the shop floor in a highly interactive role Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge leadership and production teams Employee Value Proposition Full ownership of the entire quality function Direct access to company ownership and decision-makers Opportunity to build, shape, and improve the quality environment Visible, immediate impact in a growing aerospace business Lean organization offering autonomy, accountability, and influence Work Environment Small, lean aerospace CNC job shop High-mix, low-volume production setting Highly collaborative, hands-on shop-floor culture Minimal organizational layers with strong cross-functional interaction Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milford, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.09/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
