Work Schedule Four-day workweek:
Monday-Thursday, 6:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Curtis Packaging is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer who will report directly to the Director of Quality and collaborate with employees at all levels of the organization. This role supports and continually improves the Quality Management System, contributes to internal and external audit readiness, and helps ensure that products consistently meet customer, regulatory, and company requirements. Essential Responsibilities Collect, analyze, interpret, and report quality and process-performance data using appropriate statistical methods and quality tools. Support the maintenance and continual improvement of the Quality Management System, including
ISO 9001
compliance, controlled documentation, quality records, and departmental procedures. Plan, conduct, document, and follow up on internal quality-system, supplier, and Good Manufacturing Practice audits; support external and customer audits as required. Support new product launches through quality planning, risk assessments, validation activities, and process controls from development through production. Review test results, inspection data, and quality records to verify compliance with customer, regulatory, and company requirements. Lead or facilitate corrective and preventive actions, including containment, root-cause analysis, FMEA, effectiveness verification, and control of nonconforming material. Administer the calibration program by scheduling and performing calibration checks and maintaining accurate records and equipment-status labels. Apply quality and continuous-improvement principles, including cost of quality, basic Six Sigma methods, and team-based problem solving. Support the Director of Quality and provide backup coverage for key Quality Management System activities as needed. Promote a safe work environment by following company policies and regulatory requirements, reinforcing safe practices, addressing unsafe conditions, and promptly escalating concerns. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality, manufacturing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. At least three years of quality assurance or quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems and experience supporting or conducting audits. Practical experience with root-cause analysis, corrective action, and problem-solving methods. Ability to analyze quality and process data using statistical methods and communicate findings clearly.
Pay:
$85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
