Monday-Friday, 1st Shift Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer with leadership potential to help drive the next phase of growth within an aerospace manufacturing operation. This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on quality professional to make an immediate impact by improving processes, developing quality systems, and supporting a facility transition and expansion. The ideal candidate will possess a strong aerospace manufacturing background and enjoy working closely with production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring products meet required quality standards and specifications throughout the manufacturing process. This role requires a strong understanding of quality assurance methodologies, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments. Key Responsibilities Quality Assurance Lead quality improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations. Develop and implement quality control plans, inspection criteria, testing procedures, SOPs, work instructions, and quality documentation. Monitor and evaluate production processes, identifying areas for improvement while ensuring adherence to quality standards and customer requirements. Conduct root cause analysis for product defects and non-conformances and implement corrective and preventative actions. Support and maintain ISO-compliant quality systems and processes. Inspection and Testing Oversee in-process and final inspections utilizing various measuring tools and techniques to assess product quality. Coordinate and perform audits of manufacturing processes and systems to ensure compliance with internal and external standards. Manage inspection documentation and maintain quality-related records for traceability and analysis. Review engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T requirements, specifications, and customer requirements. Continuous Improvement Drive continuous improvement efforts utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and industry best practices. Analyze quality data, metrics, and performance trends to identify opportunities for improvement. Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to improve product quality and process efficiency. Support process optimization and operational excellence initiatives throughout the facility. Training and Support Provide training and support to production personnel on quality standards, inspection techniques, and best practices. Assist in the development of training materials, quality manuals, and quality procedures. Act as a liaison between Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing departments to promote a culture of quality throughout the organization. Mentor and provide guidance to the quality inspection team. Documentation and Reporting Prepare and present quality reports and metrics to management, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement. Ensure all quality documentation is maintained accurately and in compliance with industry standards and regulations. Support customer audits, internal audits, certifications, and regulatory compliance activities. Assist in the preparation of documentation for customer audits and certifications. Qualifications Experience Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, or a related technical field preferred. 5+ years of Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, or Manufacturing Quality experience. Aerospace manufacturing experience strongly preferred. Sheet metal manufacturing experience is a plus. Strong understanding of quality standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar. Experience developing SOPs, work instructions, and quality procedures. Technical Skills Proficiency with quality inspection tools and methodologies including: Statistical Process Control (SPC) Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) Experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS). Familiarity with CAD software and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and process optimization techniques. Other Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Ability to work effectively on the manufacturing floor and build relationships with production personnel. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Energetic, hands-on personality with leadership potential and a continuous improvement mindset.
