Full Job Description Description:
Summary/Objective The laboratory information system analyst II provides computer technical services to the laboratory. The services include daily operations, vendor/project management, design, test, and implement all changes/upgrades, validation of LIS billing system, and training of laboratory staff on new functions Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.   • Ensure all items are tracked for change control processing for all systems. Prioritize requests/issues within a timely manner and ensure escalation processes are followed Vendor Management
  • Open and manage all tickets/requests and projects with the appropriate vendors. Communicate issues via the vendor specifications utilizing the appropriate escalation process. Ensure complete documentation for any/all government entities to ensure that the clinic is prepared for all audits/inspections Project Management
  • Design
  • Work with internal staff to determine the requirements for changes/upgrades being requested. Work with the vendor to ensure implementation plan is complete and accurate. Test
  • design a full testing plan for any modifications/upgrades to the system. Ensure appropriate staffing needs for testing. This will include coordinating outside departments to ensure testing needs are being met. Implementation
  • Complete a full implementation plan including post production testing and validation processes. This will include coordinating outside departments to ensure the implementation was a success. Communication
  • Communicate with management any/all updates to ensure the clinic practices are followed and staff are notified appropriately. Communicate project status information via both documentation and/or verbal communication sin a meeting setting. Communicate all issues that may affect clinic audits or inspections. System billing validation
  • Validate all modifications to ensure appropriate billing for both the patients, payers, and ensure clinic revenues. Work Environment & Physical Demands Lifting
  • Must be able to lift above shoulder height up to 10 lbs. as needed. In addition, must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. on a daily basis. For items weighing more than 30 lbs., a dolly or cart must be utilized. Pushing/Pulling

  • Must be able to perform a large amount of repetitive hand movements by utilizing computers and increased usage of the telephone.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, approximately 40 hours or more a week. This position requires being on-call and working additional hours or weekends as needed for testing the LIS. The Watson Clinic, LLP reserves the right to modify employee scheduled hours at anytime to fit the needs to the Clinic. This may include covering additional hours. Travel Minimal travel is expected for this position to corporate sites regarding laboratory computer/printer issues.
Requirements:
Required Education and Experience Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related Science degree along with the successful completion of an approved formal training program in Medical Technology or an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science with laboratory or laboratory LIS experience Preferred Education and Experience Experience in a clinical laboratory setting involving the analysis of blood, tissue and body fluids utilizing automated equipment and specialized instrumentation while performing numerous complicated tests simultaneously and accurately interpreting the results. In addition, working experience with laboratory computer operations including hardware and software applications, working with lab instrumentation, and writing calculations and testing to include building rules for autoverification. Knowledge of file building, report formats, and verification of the accurate transmission of results across all interfaces. Excellent data entry skills. Knowledge of Microsoft office including Excel and Word. Ability to build and provide reports and perform daily maintenance and troubleshooting of the laboratory information system.
