Month contract The Reliability Engineer is responsible for conducting detailed Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analyses (FMECA) on individual parts and sub assemblies, and for developing comprehensive test plans that leverage accelerated aging methodologies to validate product reliability and lifecycle performance. The role collaborates closely with design engineers, material scientists, test laboratories, and program managers to ensure that reliability risks are identified early, quantified accurately, and mitigated through targeted testing and design improvements.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Create and maintain component level FMECA worksheets following
MIL STD 1629A
(or equivalent) and internal reliability standards.
  • Identify failure modes, associated causes, and effects on system performance.
  • Assign criticality rankings and document mitigation strategies.
  • Update FMECA results throughout the product development lifecycle and capture lessons learned.
  • Define accelerated life test objectives and acceleration factors based on Arrhenius, Coffin Manson, or other appropriate models.
  • Coordinate test execution with internal labs
Required Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 1-3?years of hands on reliability engineering experience, with demonstrated expertise in component level FMECA and accelerated aging/thermal cycling tests.
  • Strong root cause analysis, risk assessment, and data interpretation capabilities; comfortable working with large data sets and generating actionable insights.
  • Proficiency with reliability analysis standards (such as
MIL STD 1629A, IEC
?60812, etc.). 1-3 years experience
  • Strong knowledge of failure physics, degradation mechanisms, and material behavior under stress. 1-3 years experience
  • Ability to develop and interpret test plans using ASTM, IEC, or MIL test methods. 1-3 years experience
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent analyses and test programs, meet deadlines, and maintain documentation control. 1-3 years experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, technical writing experience, and an ability to perform oral presentations in front of large groups. 1-3 years experience Desired skills:
  • Familiar with Model-Based Engineering tools (i.e. Cameo) 1-3 years experience
  • Experience using reliability software (e.g., ReliaSoft, Weibull++, ANSYS Reliability) and statistical tools (Minitab, R, Python) 1-3 years experience
  • Practical hands on experience with hardware test and troubleshooting. 1-3 years experience
  • Analytical thinker with a demonstrated ability of solving complex problems which require ingenuity and innovation. 1-3 years experience
  • Ability to manage subcontractors in the Reliability field of expertise.
