Engineer Quality I - Factory Engineering#26-05904 $36.45-$40.36 per hour Dubuque, IA All On-site Job Description This job fully integrates an individual into the engineering culture by performing specific quality engineering assignments that are limited in scope, depth and degree of skill required. Work plans and decisions are usually reviewed by others.
Duties:
Learns and uses quality planning tools and analysis to formulate/facilitate quality plans for new products within the product delivery, order fulfillment or customer support processes. Learns and uses quality tools consistent with quality processes to enable the focus on prevention by identifying and performing activities to minimize risk. Investigates product and process quality related issues and recommends changes to control plans and/or prints. Gathers and analyzes data pertinent to quality tools in the Enterprise Order Fulfillment Process (EOFP), Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP) and/or Customer Support Process (CSP). Performs quality audits, including supporting International Standards Organization (ISO) audits, and maintains quality manual. Inputs and maintains information in factory databases and systems. Monitors quality plan tracking system. Assists in reviews and investigations of warranty claim information.

Fabrication Quality Engineer Specific Position Requirements:
Visa sponsorship is not available, now or in the near future, for this position. 1st shift, 40 hours per week, 6am-2:30pm - OT hours may be requested by Deere No travel required Metatarsal safety boots are required on their first day Key Responsibilities 1. Quality Assurance
  • Support quality activities in fabrication in the Skid Steer boom, main frame, and pre-paint operations to ensure adherence to standard work and safety protocols.
  • Perform in process quality checks and audits according to established guidelines.
  • Document non conformances and initiate containment steps when defects are discovered.
  • Coordinate with the Quality team to manage suspect material and ensure proper disposition.
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturing standards, weld requirements, and inspection criteria.
  • Work with inspectors and welders to identify repeat quality issues and drive resolution. Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Weld Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment—preferably fabrication or welding.
  • Strong problem solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and find root cause.
  • Working knowledge of quality systems, inspection criteria, and non conformance documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfort working closely with operators, skilled trades, and engineering teams. Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with welding processes, fixtures, jigs, and fabrication tooling.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement tools (Lean, 5S, ergonomic assessments, etc.).
  • Experience working in a union environment Work Environment
  • On site role on 1st shift supporting active production areas. Hours may vary based on operational needs, including occasional flexibility to arrive earlier or stay later to support shift handoff.
  • Requires frequent presence on the shop floor, including around welding, fabrication, and automated equipment.
  • PPE required per area standards.
