Job Description Location Profile:
Located in Wilder, KY and founded in 1946, Andrews Laser Works specializes in the fabrication of complex assemblies from Inconel, steel, aluminum, and titanium sheet with a core competency in aero engine brackets and components. Utilizing laser cutting, machining, forming, stamping, welding, & assembly processes, the company transforms sheet metal into complex, tight-tolerance brackets for aircraft engines. With an ever-changing aerospace industry in which customers continually ask suppliers to integrate and innovate, Andrews Laser Works is responding to the challenge.Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Quality Manager, is responsible for customer-plant liaison, implementation and improvement of statistical methods, quality cost analysis, specification and procedure development.Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Acts as liaison between Manufacturing, Quality and Engineering relative to customer specifications, customer quality requirements, and customer problems.
- Represents Andrews Laser Works during customer and regulatory audit activities such as AS9100, NADCAP, customer, and supplier oversight audits.
- Research, write and recommend changes to procedures, work instructions and forms.
- Develop and maintain electronic Quality reports and presentations.
- Participate as an internal Quality Auditor and oversee OAP Certifications.
- Actively support and participate in continuous improvement activities, team meetings, and holding him/herself accountable for sustaining improvements.
- Ensures manufacturing operations are compliant with customer/internal specifications by collaborating with production, manufacturing engineering, and customer
- Train employees regarding quality compliance, inspection methods and procedures and consults manufacturing on Quality Management System and customer compliance, and regulatory issues.
- Assists in developing Quality Metrics to provide cost, defect, cause, and analysis to company senior leadership
- Conducts/Assists audits at suppliers/vendors to ensure compliance with specification.
- Assists in Root Cause/Corrective action process as a subject matter expert.
- Coordinate Process improvements throughout the Facility.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Experience:
- Two (2) years' experience in manufacturing machining and/or quality
- Legal eligibility to work in the United States
- 5+ years' experience in Quality or equivalent education and experience
- Knowledge of AS 9100, Nadcap requirements
- ASQ/CQE certification preferred
Education/Certifications:
