Summary :

The Quality Engineer plays a key role in driving quality improvements across manufacturing operations by reducing defects, resolving root causes, and lowering the cost of poor quality. This individual will work cross-functionally with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to strengthen processes, support product launches, and ensure compliance with quality standards.

Key Responsibilities :

Log and track customer complaints; lead containment actions, root cause analysis, and communicate resolutions Conduct process audits and Gemba walks to proactively identify and resolve issues Support

MRB/NCMR

activities, including rework approvals and disposition decisions Lead structured problem-solving efforts using 8D, DMAIC, and other methodologies Facilitate PFMEA sessions and maintain compliance with ISO 9001 and applicable industry standards Track

APQP/PPAP

deliverables and validate process readiness for new product launches Partner with suppliers to resolve quality issues and drive corrective actions Utilize ERP/MES and QMS systems to analyze data, track COPQ trends, and report on quality performance

Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or related field preferred 3+ years of quality engineering experience within a manufacturing environment 2+ years of customer-facing quality experience Strong background in customer complaints, root cause analysis, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and MSA Experience with Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies Ability to travel up to 10% as needed Sterling Engineering is an equal opportunity employer.
