Job Description

Quality Engineer Job Description The Quality Engineer develops, implements, and maintains robust quality systems to ensure consistent compliance with industry standards and customer requirements. This role focuses on process control, problem solving, and continuous improvement while partnering closely with plant management, operators, and the quality inspection team to resolve issues and enhance overall product quality. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain quality systems to ensure ongoing compliance with applicable standards and customer requirements. Verify the use of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and other process controls in production, and train and coach operators as needed to ensure proper application. Assist with 8D corrective actions related to customer complaints and internal concerns, maintaining detailed logs to ensure timely disposition of parts and effective closure of issues. Build and maintain strong working relationships with plant management and operators to identify, investigate, and resolve quality issues at their source. Plan, schedule, and conduct internal audits of the quality system to verify compliance and identify opportunities for improvement. Assist with the creation, maintenance, and control of documentation associated with quality standards, including ISO, IATF, SPC, and compliance requirements. Interface with the quality inspection department to support Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities, including preparation and review of documentation required for submission. Review, track, and determine disposition of all internal non-conforming materials and products, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up actions. Ensure that training programs on quality system policies, procedures, and requirements are developed, delivered, and maintained for employees. Develop and maintain customer-specific quality requirements, including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Process FMEA (PFMEA), and process flow charts. Perform additional quality-related duties and projects as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Glendale Heights, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $45.00/hr.
