Job Title:
Maintenance Reliability Engineer Job Description The Maintenance Reliability Engineer supports the maintenance organization by managing the administrative and analytical functions of the maintenance program. This role focuses on administering the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), generating performance reports, supporting asset management, and collaborating closely with accounting and maintenance teams. By owning documentation, reporting, and system administration, this position enables maintenance technicians and engineers to concentrate on equipment reliability, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Administer and maintain the company's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), such as Lumin or similar platforms. Generate daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance performance reports that provide clear visibility into equipment status, work orders, and maintenance activities. Develop dashboards, presentations, and analytical reports using Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools to support data-driven decision-making. Monitor data quality within the CMMS and ensure all maintenance records, work orders, and asset information are accurate, complete, and up to date. Create and maintain equipment asset records, including assigning new asset numbers and updating asset details as equipment is added, modified. Coordinate with the accounting department to ensure new equipment and capital assets are properly documented, tracked, and entered into company systems. Support maintenance planning and reporting by providing accurate operational data, performance metrics, and trends to maintenance leadership and stakeholders. Identify opportunities to improve maintenance reporting processes, CMMS workflows, and data integrity, and recommend enhancements to tools and procedures. Assist with the development and tracking of maintenance documentation, key performance indicators (KPIs), and continuous improvement initiatives. Provide administrative and analytical support that allows maintenance technicians, engineers, and subject matter experts to remain focused on equipment troubleshooting and reliability. Collaborate across departments, including maintenance, engineering, operations, and accounting, to ensure alignment on asset management and maintenance strategies. Contribute to preventive maintenance and reliability engineering efforts by ensuring accurate information is available for planning and execution. Essential Skills Technical experience in Engineering, Maintenance, Industrial Technology, Controls, or a related field. Experience working in a maintenance or manufacturing environment, with exposure to industrial equipment and maintenance processes. Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and their use in managing work orders, assets, and maintenance history. Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, reporting, and creation of dashboards or summary reports. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple data sources, documents, and reporting deadlines. Strong analytical skills to interpret maintenance data, identify trends, and support reliability-focused decisions. Ability to create professional presentations and management reports that effectively communicate maintenance performance and recommendations. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments, including maintenance, engineering, operations, and accounting. Understanding of reliability engineering concepts and maintenance best practices. Knowledge of asset management and preventive maintenance principles in an industrial or manufacturing setting. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with Lumin CMMS or similar maintenance management software. Knowledge of maintenance planning, asset management, and preventive maintenance programs. Experience supporting manufacturing or industrial maintenance operations, including coordination with shop floor personnel. Understanding of capital equipment tracking, depreciation considerations, and coordination with accounting for asset documentation. Experience in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or industrial engineering. Experience in foundry or heavy industrial environments. Work Environment The role is primarily office-based and involves a high proportion of desk work focused on CMMS administration, data analysis, and report generation. The Maintenance Reliability Engineer may occasionally walk the shop floor to review equipment, verify asset information, observe maintenance activities, and collaborate directly with technicians and engineers. The environment combines standard office tools and software, including Microsoft Excel and CMMS platforms, with exposure to manufacturing or industrial operations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Mapleton, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
