We're seeking an Automotive Warranty Parts Quality Engineer for a 6-month onsite contract in Normal, IL, offering the opportunity to make a direct impact on product quality and customer experience. About the Role This role helps lead the technical aspects of the Warranty Partnership Program, including continuous improvement and supplier recovery efforts. The position serves as a key link between warranty data analysis, parts returns, supplier quality engineering, and suppliers. It coordinates and supports activities to ensure the Supplier Warranty Partnership Program runs effectively and smoothly. Responsibilities Support all technical aspects of the Supplier Warranty Partnership Program Work hand in hand with Supplier Quality to develop, retrieve, and utilize field data to continually improve our products and reduce warranty costs Drive continuous improvement through use of the Warranty Supplier Corrective Action Request process (WARSCAR process) Work closely with data teams to establish data requirements that will ensure supplier warranty concerns are rapidly addressed Support method to establish Supplier Warranty KPI's for all Products and drive organizational awareness and delivery Conduct ad-hoc analysis and deep dives into specific vehicle technical issues or service center operations as needed Accurately input and update evidence and data related to supplier warranty partnership agreements, claims, and performance metrics Generate regular reports using tools such as Hex or Databricks and other analytics to track supplier performance and identify trends Assist in analyzing data to identify areas for improvement and optimization within the supplier warranty partnership program Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather relevant data and ensure alignment with program objectives Communicate effectively with suppliers to collect necessary information and address any discrepancies or issues Collaborate with cross-functional teams including technicians, engineers, and customer service representatives to improve supplier warranty data supporting program objectives Qualifications Bachelor's in engineering or similar discipline, Master's Preferred 4+ years of experience with automotive Supplier Warranty data and Statistical Analysis Strong statistical and problem-solving capability Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Hex and exposure to various software/data tools including JIRA and Databricks Knowledge of AIAG, VDA, APQP and related tools Demonstrated leadership in driving quality improvements in overall vehicle attribute performance Ability to manage multiple projects across varying geographic locations simultaneously Willingness to work in a strong cross-functional environment Proven technical knowledge and ability to collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers Required Skills Quality Frameworks Strong Supplier Management Relationship Expertise in Engineering Good Communication and Negotiation Good Problem-Solving Skills Motion Recruitment Partners (MRP) is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
