This is a high-impact role reporting directly to the Director of Quality, responsible for ensuring compliance withIATF 16949
, customer requirements, and internal quality standards in a high-volume, tight-tolerance manufacturing environment . The ideal candidate will play a key role in customer quality, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement , supporting complex metal components for automotive and industrial applications. Position Overview The Quality Control Engineer serves as a hands-on technical resource supporting manufacturing operations while ensuring product quality, process stability, and customer satisfaction. This role requires strong expertise in engineering drawings, GD&T, and inspection processes , along with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced production environment. Key Responsibilities Quality Systems & Compliance Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO-based quality systems Maintain quality procedures, standards, and documentation Monitor KPIs and drive corrective actions Customer Quality & Problem Solving Lead and support customer complaint investigations Perform root cause analysis using 8D, 5-Why methodologies Act as a key contact for customer quality issues Manufacturing & Inspection Support Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T (required) Support inspection processes, including CMM (preferred) Ensure product conformance to tight tolerances and complex geometries Partner with production teams to resolve shop floor quality issues Continuous Improvement Drive defect reduction and process capability improvements Utilize statistical tools and data analysis for decision-making Support Lean manufacturing initiatives Cross-Functional Collaboration Work with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams Support APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, and Control Plans Contribute to new product launches and process optimization Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field preferred (Equivalent experience will be considered for strong candidates) Experience within automotive or high-volume manufacturing environments Background in metal injection molding (MIM), powder metals, precision machining, or similar metal component manufacturing strongly preferred Technical Skills Strong knowledge ofIATF 16949 / ISO
quality systems Proficiency in GD&T and drawing interpretation (required) Experience with CMM inspection (preferred) Familiarity with PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans Experience with 8D, 5-Why, and statistical tools Core Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Experience working with automotive customers High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume environments Strong communication and teamwork skills Additional Requirements Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available) Preference for candidates located in or willing to relocate toWI / IL / MN
