Full Job Description Primary Duties:
Participates in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) to ensure planned inputs meet desired outputs. Provides the necessary support and drive to ensure APQP documents such as Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEAs (Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis), Process Control Plans, and PPAPs (Production Part Approval Process) are prepared. Acts as the Statistical Process Control (SPC) Coordinator to ensure said controls are implemented, monitored and continually improved. When assigned, serves as the 8D champion to determine root cause and corrective action utilizing a cross-functional team approach. Participates in the disposition of rejected product through daily material review board activities and collaborates with operations to determine root cause and corrective actions. Participates in daily Quality Standup meetings to report on and drive quality related issues to closure. Acts as the single point of contact with select customers regarding any product launch or product failure and maintains regular and open communication with the customer throughout the process. Creates and maintains quality reports related to the quality management system. Conducts field warranty analysis and disposition. Collaborates with a cross-functional team to determine root causes and corrective action and monitors field warranty trends. All other activities and duties as assigned. Competencies /
Skills:
Work well with others in a collaborative manner to meet customer requirements while promoting mutually respectful working relationships. This includes respectfully communicating and resolving conflicts with others. Apply structured problem-solving methodologies to determine root cause including 5 Why, 8D, Fishbone, etc. Apply Six Sigma DMAIC problem solving tools to reduce variation in processes. Apply the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process and principles. Apply the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) as required by the Company and by customers. Apply Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) Core Tools including process flow, process failure mode effects analysis (PFMEA), control plans, and measurement systems analysis (MSA). Perform basic statistical analysis including analysis of variance, regression analysis, and correlation analysis. Analyze a part or process to determine the root cause of the failure. Use statistical process control (SPC) analysis to determine when a process is out of control. Use an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system—specifically
INFOR/MAPICS.
Experience with Unipoint QMS a plus. Communicate effectively with internal and/or external customers verbally or in writing. Read blueprints to accurately interpret symbols and dimensions. Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)—including tolerance stack-up analysis—to specifications. Create or modify process instructions or work instructions.
Physical Requirements:
Frequent lifting, carrying, and pushing, pulling up to 20 lbs. —rarely up to 50 lbs. Bending, standing, walking throughout the day
Education and Experience:
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience. Three years experience in a quality position in a manufacturing environment. Two years experience with ISO 9001 and/or
TS 16949.
Preferred:
Certified Quality Engineer. Experience in Six Sigma, customer relations, leading cross functional teams, and supporting new product introduction activates
