Job Description:
Quality Engineer We are seeking a skilled Quality Engineer to develop, implement, and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, and inspection plans for CNC-machined thermal products. This role involves reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to ensure accurate quality planning and leading root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for internal and customer quality issues. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, and inspection plans for CNC-machined thermal products. Review engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to ensure accurate quality planning. Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for internal and customer quality issues. Support first article inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections. Collaborate closely with CNC machinists, programmers, and supervisors to resolve quality concerns and improve processes. Analyze quality data and trends, and recommend process improvements. Manage nonconforming material reports and coordinate disposition activities. Assist with customer, internal, and third-party audits, including
ISO 9001.
Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of inspection and measurement equipment. Support supplier quality activities, including supplier evaluations and corrective actions. Implement and maintain statistical methodologies for process improvement. Train production and inspection personnel on quality standards and best practices. Collaborate daily with internal departments, including sales, customer service, engineering, purchasing, and production. Lead and direct the shop-floor quality team, including training and addressing technical challenges. Perform other tasks and special projects as needed. Essential Skills Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree is required. Minimum of 5 years of Quality Engineering experience. Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T. Experience with quality tools such as PPAP, FMEA, SPC, root cause analysis, and 8D. Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other applicable quality management systems. Proficiency with statistical software such as MiniTab or JMP. Experience using inspection equipment like calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMMs. Additional Skills & Qualifications ASQ quality-related certifications such as CQE or CQA are preferred.
Lean / Six
Sigma certifications such as Green Belt or Black Belt are preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $100000.00/yr. offers a competitive salary, full benefit package, including medical, dental, vision, life, EAP and 401k with employer match, annual bonus if company hits target numbers Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in St. Charles,IL.
